On 24 August, the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Cllr Eddy Newman joined staff from Adactus and Healthy Me Healthy Communities, along with volunteers and local residents to officially launch Miles Platting’s Community Grocer. Since opening its doors on 10 August 2017, the Grocer has already proved to be a great success amongst its members. The Community Grocer is a food sharing membership scheme with local residents paying £2.50 for a basket full of food items worth around £12.50.  The baskets …

We are very happy to report that the Adactus500 Scrutiny exercise on the repairs process has been successfully completed. The scrutiny panel, made up of eight residents from across the Adactus Group, met over three meetings between April 2017 and July 2017 and produced a set of recommendations for our board members to consider. These recommendations, and the response to them from Adactus management, were presented to the performance, scrutiny and audit committee earlier this month. The association has successfully managed to evict a 31 year old man from a flat in Chorley. The eviction followed an investigation launched after local residents complained about the large number of visitors to a property. Reports from the police also highlighted that there were concerns about drugs paraphernalia in that particular property.  This was later confirmed when our maintenance team carried out a gas safety check. We are pleased to announce that Adactus Housing have now allocated all of this year’s BIG fund to local projects and initiatives. This is really exciting news and means that a massive £141,770 has been invested in 89 AHA community projects.
