Adactus Housing Association has funded £1000 to Compassion Food Bank to enable them to expand their services into a Kitchen Appliances Bank. Compassion Food Bank is an independent food bank which provides a food source for people in need as well as a drop in facility for ex-offenders and the wider community. They offer free food parcels containing food which will provide a balanced diet for a number of days for their client and each of their family members. Michelle …

In December 2014, members of Trafford’s TDAN project celebrated all they had achieved throughout the year by holding a Social and Feedback Forum. TDAN is a social group part of the Trafford Centre for Independent Living.  The group provides opportunities for local disabled people to access activities such as sports and wellbeing sessions in the heart of their community. Last Wednesday, a new Adactus500 Scrutiny Panel met at our Head Office in Leigh to start their scrutiny of energy efficiency. Nine tenants came from across the North West to meet together to share their views and agree the scope of the scrutiny exercise. The People First Befriending Scheme has received funding through the Adactus Neighbourhood Fund for the second year running.  The scheme provides emotional and practical support to vulnerable adults within communities in South Manchester. The service is volunteer led and therefore benefits those who require the support and also those who wish to increase their volunteering capacities.
