With help from Chorley Community Housing’s Neighbourhood Fund, the Croston Village Christmas Fair was a huge success for old and young alike. Over 50 local homeless people attended a festive themed big lunch at Leigh Library. The event, held at Leigh Turnpike Centre, provided attendees with a free hot meal and a jammed packed afternoon of interactive activities. The event, arranged by the Library and local homeless charity, The Brick was tailored to promote local services and also encourage homeless people to utilise public buildings. Activities on the day included a music and art zone, arcade games and a free prize draw. …

Over 30 primary school children descended on Adactus Housing Association’s extra care scheme in Worsley Meynes to entertain residents with a Christmas concert. The pupils from St Jude’s catholic primary school visited Eliot Gardens to perform a selection of Christmas classics. With help from the Adactus neighbourhood fund, the service users of the Justlife Centre in Openshaw having been able to develop their garden improving their mental, emotion and physical health. Justlife is situated in Higher Openshaw and works with hard-to-reach individuals with multiple and critical needs. Thanks to funding this year and last year from Adactus to create and improve the centre’s garden, bridges have been built with the local community through improving the garden at the centre and local residents’ …
