Following on from the Scrutiny Panel’s interim meeting, our Internal Affairs team has been busy gathering further evidence to present to the Scrutiny Panel at their next meeting in mid December. Adactus have continued to support the East Manchester mental health care group EMUG (East Manchester User Group) in providing friendship, understanding and acceptance. EMUG meet most Mondays at the World Harvest Church on South Seymour Road in Clayton. Up to 25 local residents attend the drop in session and are provided with the opportunity to discuss their experiences and provide support to each other. Friends of Derby Park, have been successful in bidding for cash from Adactus Housing Association’s community grant scheme, the Neighbourhood Fund. The Friends group run regular events and activities in Derby Park, one of the oldest Victorian parks in the country, and this year applied to the Neighbourhood Fund to put on a further three events. Chorley Community Housing has provided All Saints Primary School and Gillibrand Primary School with reflective slap wrap bands for their children to wear during the dark winter months. The bands are bright and reflective allowing other people to see the children in the dark increasing their safety when travelling to and from school. Adactus Housing Association residents celebrate success after scoping prestigious Northwest in Bloom awards.  Residents from Slackey Fold, Quayside and Ambergate scooped awards in recognition of their hard work and dedication in transforming the schemes outdoor spaces into their own paradise gardens. A panel of expert judges from visited each scheme throughout the summer months and judged each of the gardens in relation to colour, design, presentation and innovation.
