Adactus Housing Association have purchased office equipment for Winston’s Wish, a national charity supporting bereaved children, to assist in setting up their new service in Wigan. The project will support young people aged between 0-18 years living in Wigan who are struggling to cope with the death of their mum, dad or close relative. Trafford tenants of Adactus Housing have now allocated £12,500 of Neighbourhood Fund money to 17 community projects in Trafford. Seven Adactus Tenants faced tough decisions as they sifted though numerous Neighbourhood Fund applications over two rounds. The judges supported projects ranging from sports sessions for disabled adults; to support for local Friends of Parks groups in Broadheath and Stretford; to free tuition for young people in Old Trafford. The Love Longsight campaign has been launched on 13th September by Manchester City Council. Local groups can apply for tools, equipment or anything that will help to clean up their local area. Clean ups will take place across Longsight to help local groups improve their local area and advice and information will be available about waste and recycling, crime prevention and how residents can get involved in the Love Longsight campaign. Adactus Housing Association is calling for Sefton residents to come forward for their last chance to grab a slice of the Neighbourhood Fund pie! Community grant scheme, the Neighbourhood Fund, is currently open for round 2 and Adactus are inviting individuals and groups alike to apply for cash to support a community project in their area. Adactus Housing Association and Contour Housing provided a family fun day on the 27th August 2014 for residents of Foxdenton Drive and surrounding streets in Stretford. Children enjoyed craft activities, painting bird boxes and getting their faces painted. There was also an animal in-tuition workshop where Andrew Grantham assisted children in learning about the different animals.
