Adactus Housing Association have recently completed energy works to tackle 77 of its hardest to heat properties in Abbey Hey. To coincide with these works community media company, REELmcr, have been inviting local residents to take part in a short film tackling issues around energy efficiency and climate change. A site along Longmarsh Lane in Lancaster is to be transformed into much needed one bedroom apartments to rent thanks to the Adactus Housing Group. The £1.5m development was secured in partnership with Lancaster City Council and received funding through the Homes and Community Agency.  The development will be completed in one phase, taking approximately 11 months to build and will create 18 one bedroom cottage style apartments all for affordable rent.  Adactus Housing Association will manage the apartments on …

The friends of Vine Street Park have brightened up their area after being awarded funding from the Adactus Neighbourhood Fund.  The group have replaced flowers in all of the window boxes and troughs around the perimeter of the park. Adactus Housing Association have provided a number of residents groups, across Manchester, with gardening vouchers as part of their ‘Plan Bee’ project. Plan Bee aims to encourage people to grow plants that provide food for bees. The Adactus Neighbourhood Fund provided funding for a printer and other office equipment for a community centre providing drop-in sessions. Neston Community Cybercentre provides one to one support to Neston residents who have never used a computer before.  The centre enables people to access online services to improve their quality of life and skills.
