Linaker Children’s Centre was awarded funding from the Adactus Neighbourhood Fund to provide a variety of activities for local children, free of charge.  Over 170 children have attended circus skills and street dance sessions where they enjoyed plate spinning, juggling, dancing and much more. Adactus Housing, Northwards Housing and local residents teamed up to hold a Christmas Cracker event on Saturday the 7th December at Northwards Housing Sheltered Scheme, Joseph Dean Court. Greater Manchester Fire and Police Service were in attendance to educate young and old about the importance of the emergency services.  There was a variety of festive experience, including a special appearance from Santa himself.  The Factory Youth Zone’s dance troupe ‘Elevate’ mesmerized the crowds with some great moves and entertained everyone …

Adactus Housing Group have won the Employer of the Year award from Wigan Supported Employment team.  Jayne Allison, Employment & Skills Manager, collected the Edward Shovelton award on behalf of Adactus. Wigan Supported Employment work with people who have disabilities and help them into work placements to suit their skills and abilities and ultimately into sustainable employment.  Adactus has been working with Wigan Supported Employment since 2006 and has more recently offered 5 placements with 2 employees becoming paid employees …

Springwell Park Primary School has even more to celebrate this christmas after securing funding towards their free breakfast club. The primary school based in Bootle applied for the Adactus Neighbourhood Fund to help towards the running costs of their breakfast club.  They were delighted when they learnt that their application had been successful and can now continue to offer the breakfast club free of charge for the next year. On Friday 29th November the residents of Gorton were treated to a fun filled night of market stalls, live music, fair rides and a visit from Santa himself. The Gorton Events Committee along with Adactus, Tesco and many more sponsors, helped light up the streets of Gorton with over 150 people in attendance to enjoy and celebrate their town and the start of the Christmas season.
