On Wednesday, the Adactus500 scrutiny panel on planned maintenance met at our Head Office in Leigh to continue their scrutiny of planned maintenance. The main purpose of the interim meeting was to give scrutiny panel members the opportunity to look in detail at the interim report produced by our internal affairs team, and to challenge the findings. Ex offenders, employed by Your Environment Team (YET) spent 3 weeks at Adactus scheme Keeley Close in Newton Heath lifting and levelling a large flagged area at the bottom of the communal garden. AHA, Northwards Housing and other housing providers in North Manchester fund and support the team, run by Blue Sky who are operated by Groundwork Manchester. The Adactus500 Scrutiny exercise on Tenant Safety has been successfully completed. The Scrutiny Panel, made up of nine residents from across the Adactus Group, met over three meetings between May and July and produced a set of recommendations for our Board members to consider. These recommendations, and the response to them from Adactus management, were presented to the Group Audit Committee in August. With the help of a local housing association, pupils at the Parkview Community School in Miles Platting had the opportunity to get some early advice on staying safe in their neighbourhoods. Adactus Housing, a member of the Renaissance Consortium, is working to improve the homes in Miles Platting and currently replacing roofs on the miles platting estate. This requires scaffolding being erected outside the houses and mast climbers on one of the tower blocks which increases the risk for an …
