Adactus worked with residents from Jackson Court and Scafell Close to organise a ‘family fun day’ event in Urmston.  Scafell Close is one of our latest developments in the area, located off Bowfell Road, and consists of sixteen 2 bedroom flats. The event proved popular amongst local residents and included craft activities, a face painter, refreshments and a circus skills workshop. On Wednesday, the Adactus500 scrutiny panel on tenant safety met at our Head Office in Leigh for a final time to finish their scrutiny of tenant safety (fire and gas). Tenants wanting to move to another property currently have three main options. They can apply for a transfer, swap their home with another tenant via Mutual Exchange, or find a property elsewhere (e.g. with another landlord). We anticipate that with the introduction of Welfare Reforms, more and more of our tenants may wish to move. Being open and transparent about our activities and costs is central to our work at Adactus. We recently asked Adactus500 members to give us feedback on our repair timescales. We asked residents to think about each type of repair in turn, and decide if they should be classed as an emergency (24 hours) repair or routine (10 days) repair. What we learned from the results: Around nine out of ten residents thought that no heating or hot water in winter; a faulty gas fire; or no hot water should be given a 24hr response time. Around …
