On Wednesday, the Adactus500 scrutiny panel on tenant safety met at our Head Office in Leigh to continue their scrutiny of tenant safety (fire and gas). The main purpose of the interim meeting was to give scrutiny panel members the opportunity to look in detail at the interim report produced by our internal affairs team, and to challenge the findings. Three grounds maintenance apprentices from Wigan and Leigh have been supported by Adactus Housing Association to obtain their driving licences.  The three have all passed their theory and practical tests and one has also taken a trailer test. Jayne Allison, Employment and Skills Manager with Adactus, said:  “Last year instead of recruiting temporary seasonal gardening staff we were able to recruit three apprentices in Wigan and Leigh using funding from the Coalfield Regeneration Trust as part of our GROW project.” …

It’s Recycling Week between 17 June and 5 July.  To help promote it, we are placing two large wheelie bins in the reception of our local Adactus office on 542 Oldham Road, Miles Platting.  We would like to invite all local residents to bring any old small electrical appliances and items they need to dispose. Adactus Housing Association has once again set aside a pot of money and would like to put residents of Miles Platting in control of how it is spent.  ‘Miles Platting – You Decide’ lets residents of Miles Platting decide for themselves which projects are needed in their area. Any local community, voluntary or non-profit organisation – even informal groups or friends and neighbours – can apply for up to £3,000 to put ideas into action.  All groups applying have to …
