Adactus Housing Association has announced a £20,000 Neighbourhood Fund for Wigan and Leigh. Adactus is looking for residents, community groups and voluntary organisations to submit bids for projects that will benefit the neighbourhoods and communities of Adactus residents. Applications for the fund are judged by a panel of Adactus residents and projects that were funded last year include: cookery lessons, community gardens, community food growing projects and activities for the over 60’s. On 30 March REELmcr premiered their ‘Pride in Abbey Hey’ film at a fun filled community event at PJs Community Centre in Abbey Hey, Gorton. The film was made by local people, for local people and celebrates Abbey Hey’s history and sense of community. The film is a call to action and includes a positive vision for the future of Abbey Hey centring around its existing community groups and multiculturalism. The Neighbourhood Fund for 2013/14 has been launched with a total of £200,000 in grant funding available across the Group. We are now looking for residents, community groups and voluntary organisations to submit bids for projects that will benefit people living throughout our communities. Applications for the fund, now in its fourth year, are judged by a panel of residents. Adactus Housing Group are now looking for residents, community groups and voluntary organisations to submit bids for projects that will benefit people living in communities across Sefton with the launch of a £35,000 community grant scheme for 2013/14.
