Adactus Housing Group have announced plans to build 65 new homes in Sefton in partnership with Sefton Council. The plans, which cover the next four years, represent an overall investment of almost £8m in new housing in the borough and includes £2m of grant from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA). Successful recipients of the Cheshire Neighbourhood Fund came together on October 24th to celebrate receiving their awards and to show how a little money can make a big difference. The total amount available for our Cheshire judges to award was £4,500. Not an easy job when the total amount asked for in the 20 applications was over £27,000. In the end the resident judges funded 11 projects, the smallest award was for £110 for a games parachute for a girl …

Equality and diversity policies are not just words in a document. Here at South Office in Manchester, staff have gone one step further in removing barriers to participation for tenants with disabilities. Last year’s neighbourhood fund winners in Cheshire were invited to sit on this year’s resident judges panel. Our Neighbourhood Fund giant Cheque finished its rounds in South Manchester. The awards event took place at Hibiscus Court in Whalley Range on the 1st of November. The winners and judges were invited along to attend the giant cheque photo opportunity and learn a bit more about the other successful projects. There were 28 successful projects from South Manchester and Trafford receiving £30,845 in funding. The judging panel made up of local residents picked these projects from a possible 59 …
