We have published the Adactus Tenants’ Annual Reports for 2010/11, and what a year it was. Jayne Clayton, Chair of the Board during the year, called it, “One of the most successful in the Association’s 47 year history”, highlighting a record number of new homes developed, £200,000 made available to tenants to spend in the Neighbourhood Fund and the introduction of new approaches to service delivery. Adactus deal with a large number of telephone calls, letters, emails and in-person queries from residents. We have a contact centre that deals with the majority of communications, and our staff are highly trained at dealing with residents in a sensitive and understanding manner. From time to time, customers can become upset, angry or frustrated over difficult situations and we pride ourselves on the way our staff resolve these situations. Our Sheltered Housing Service consists of 2009 purpose built homes designed especially for older people which include: • Category 1 housing – Flats/bungalows with an emergency alarm call box fitted to the property • Category 2 housing (also known as sheltered housing) – Flats/bungalow as category 1 but with access to an on-site scheme co-coordinator • Extra Care – self contained flats with the same facilities as Category 2 housing but with the added benefit of on site care providers …

Thanks to the Adactus Housing Association Neighbourhood Fund children from Gorton recently enjoyed summer sessions every Tuesday and Friday throughout the August holidays. Last year Debdale & Woodlands Community Association approached Adactus to seek their help in keeping their local children occupied during the long summer months to keep them safe and off the streets. Lovely sunny weather, cuddly critters, and happy children were the order of the day at Foxdenton estate recently. A successful Neighbourhood fund application meant that Adactus Housing were able to put on a fun packed afternoon on the Pullman Drive carpark for all residents from Foxdenton Drive, Archer Place, Pullman Drive as well as residents from Hurstbrook Drive where properties are a mix of privately owned and Contour Homes properties.
